  • How can I book an appointment?
    Please use the Individual Booking option for one person instant bookings at Studio Shimona only (unless travel stated in the title) or request a quote through the Group Booking form for groups/individuals with multiple dates/group classes/commercial bookings.
  • What services do you offer?
    I offer makeup application, hair styling, outfit styling and education services on the weekends only.
  • How do I make payment?
    Payments can be made via credit card or Afterpay (payments in x4 fortnightly instalments). For instant Individual Bookings, a 50% deposit is required at checkout to lock in your spot, with the balance to be paid later.
  • Do you offer services on the weekdays?
    No, I only offer services on the weekends.
  • When should I schedule in my appointment?
    For brides. I recommended to book as early as one year in advance. All non brides can consider booking a maximum of 6 months in advance. For classes and commercial, a few weeks is sufficient notice to schedule a booking with me.
  • Can you accommodate large bridal parties or group bookings?
    I can accomodate a max 4 hour service in one sitting. For more than 4 services, I’ll have to call upon support from my trusted network of hair and makeup artists who I usually coordinate and work with for large bridal party booking requests. Depending on the number of people in the group, I will suggest the number of extra artists required and forward through the artist options based on their availability, alongside their portfolio and fees for your consideration. Take away the stress of enquiring and co-ordinating with multiple artists and I’ll take care of it all on your behalf! A flat fee of $50 applies for coordinating extra artists.
  • Can you accommodate last-minute bookings?
    I do not accept bookings later than 7 days before the event date.
  • Can I cancel my booking?
    Yes, but the deposit is a non refundable deposit. It can be used towards another booking with me within 6 months of the event date if you do request to cancel.
  • How should I prepare for my appointment?
    You will receive all the preparation instructions in the booking confirmation email once booked in.
  • Do you offer trials for bridal or special event makeup/hair?
    I only offer trials for brides and highly encourage this to be booked in alongside a booking for the actual event date. Please be aware that a trial does not secure the actual date of the event, as that can only be secured through a deposit. I do not offer trials for any non-bridal services.
  • Do you offer hair and makeup touch-up services throughout the event?
    I do not touch-up throughout the event but I do offer a touch up kit for each client to take away with them from the booking which includes a powder touch up triangle sponge, lip colour with lip applicator, bobby pins, safety pins and mint.
  • What products do you use?
    My products are all high quality and range from reputable Australian beauty brands to high end brands from Sephora and Mecca.
  • What happens if I have a reaction to any of the products used?
    In the unlikely instance you do react to my products from the service please notify me as soon as possible. Ahead of all bookings it is imperative that you share any details of allergies or sensitivities before the service commences. If you struggle with hayfever, it is recommended to take an antihistamine before the service, especially for makeup application to reduce the chances of tearing and sniffles!
  • Can you work with specific skin types or hair textures?
    I can work on any skin type and hair texture! If you have concerns about your particular features please raise them with me before the appointment and I can give you advice on how to best prepare.
  • How long will my hair/makeup appointment take?
    The timings are listed on my Service Menu page.
  • Do you travel for on-location services?
    I travel for a minimum spend of $500.
  • How should I care for my hair/makeup after the appointment?
    Avoid touching your hair and/or face. Eat with cutlery or drink through a straw. Use the touch up kit to prolong the look.
  • Can you accommodate special requests or themes for makeup/hair?
    Yes, I can but you will need to let me know in advance what the occasion is and the type of look you’re after.
  • Are there any discounts or package deals available for booking multiple services?
    Strictly no discounts.
  • How do you ensure hygiene and cleanliness during appointments?
    I have a thorough hygiene routine to ensure cleanliness and reduction of bacteria transfer in between each client. Apart from using alcohol cleansed products, I always use sanitised combs/brushes/sponges and disposable applicators on each client.
  • Can you provide recommendations for hair/makeup styles that would best suit my features or event?
    Yes, we can have a chat prior to the booking. You will have the opportunity to send through inspiration pics prior to the appointment.
  • Do you offer classes?

  • What is your experience and training in the hair and makeup industry?
    I have been a hair and makeup artist for over 8 years. I am self-taught but frequently attend workshops to continuously enhance my skills. Read more About Me.
  • Can you provide references or examples of your previous work?

  • How do I communicate my preferences or concerns during the appointment?
    I encourage you to be open and honest throughout. I will ensure to ask you for your opinion and thoughts as we go along to allow for any opportunity to make changes if required. The earlier the better!
  • Are there any additional fees for travel, parking, or other expenses?
    Yes, there are additional fees. Travel starts at $100, client is to cover the cost of parking and there are some early start fees that may apply. Please read more here Service Menu.
  • Do you have experience working with people of diverse backgrounds and skin tones?
    Yes, I’ve worked with every skin tone and hair type you can imagine over the last 8 years!
  • What types of one-on-one classes do you offer for personal and professional use?
    They’re completely tailored around your goals. For makeup classes I usually demonstrate the step on one half of the face and the student will replicate on the other. Same with my hair classes.
  • How are the one-on-one classes structured?
    There will be an initial consult to talk about pain points which will follow through to some 101 tips followed by the actual demonstration and practice of the one look chosen.
  • Can I choose the focus of the class, such as specific makeup techniques or hairstyling skills?
    Yes! Choosing a focus is always good as it helps to keep the class on track and narrow the techniques down.
  • What materials or tools will I need for the class?
    Just bring in a notepad and pen to jot down all the tips and recommended products. Everything else will be provided.
  • How long are the one-on-one classes?
    2 hours.
  • Do you offer flexible scheduling for the classes?

  • How do I book in a one-on-one class?
    Use my Individual Booking function.
  • Are there any prerequisites for the classes?
    None whatsoever! From absolute beginners to training artists, all are welcome.
  • Do you provide ongoing support or follow-up after the class is completed?
    Yes, my door is always open. Phone call and texts after the class are always welcome at any juncture. A follow up class can be setup too for further practice or skill refinement.
  • Do I get a certificate post class?
    No, I don’t provide a certificate.
  • What is the cost of the one-on-one classes, and are there any payment plans available?
    $250 per class and I do provide Afterpay as an option if required.
  • Are there any discounts for booking multiple sessions or referring friends?
    Strictly no discounts.
  • Can I learn both hair and makeup skills during the one-on-one classes?
    No, they are separate classes to maximise focus time and reduce knowledge overload.
  • Do you offer virtual or online one-on-one classes for remote learners?
    No virtual classes at this stage as they’re currently delivered in person.
  • What services do you offer as a stylist?
    Complete head to toe styling for your next event! Whether it is a western event or Indian event I’m here to create a vision board of options complete with a shopping list for each look, tailored to your budget.
  • How do I book an appointment with you?
    Simply add on styling to any of my hair and makeup service from the Individual Booking at checkout or request in the Group Booking form.
  • What are your rates for different event styling?
    $100 flat fee per event.
  • Can you accommodate specific requests or styles?
    Yes, we can discuss and tailor to your requirements.

  • What types of commercial projects do you work on?
    All types! My experience currently lies in fashion shoots and brand shoots featuring a mix of Indian and western wear.
  • How do I book your services for a commercial project?

  • What is your availability for on-site shoots or productions?
    Weekends only.
  • Can you accommodate specific themes or concepts for the project?
    Yes, please provide your vision breakdown so I’ll be able to bring it to life!
  • Do you offer consultations to discuss the creative direction of the hair and makeup for the project?
    Yes, ongoing phone calls and emails are usually the best way to plan.
  • What products do you use for commercial shoots, and are they suitable for high-definition cameras?
    High quality, photo ready products and techniques will be used.
  • Can you work within a specified budget for hair and makeup on commercial projects?
    I offer two options, $500 for half day and $1000 for full day.
  • What happens if there are last-minute changes or adjustments needed during the shoot?
    That is fine, happy to adjust on set within reason.
  • Can you provide touch-up services throughout the shoot if required?
    Yes, I can stay onsite after completing the makeup as long as it’s within the agreed hours.
  • Are you able to travel for on-location shoots, and are there additional fees associated with travel?
    Yes, I do travel for commercial shoots. Travel starts at $100 depending on the location.
  • How far in advance should I book your services for a commercial project?
    6 months is sufficient.
